The Admission Advisory Group was founded in 2004 by three highly skilled, deeply experienced, and principled admission professionals who are trained in the art of human assessment.

We collectively share 60+ years of professional experience in higher education, including 44 years at Stanford University, having rendered final admission decisions on thousands of MBA applications.

What Drives Us?

We share a passionate belief that higher education can transform and impact people’s lives, creating lifelong intellectual, professional, and personal opportunities. Yet, the admission processes at highly competitive MBA programs can be opaque, daunting, and difficult to navigate.

To guide, advise, and support you as you navigate the complex MBA application process. This is what drives us in our work.

Organic, Serendipitous Beginnings.

After serving on the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB) MBA Admission Committee for 19 collective years, we each moved on professionally.

Soon, our former Stanford GSB students began reaching out to us, seeking advice on MBA admission for family, friends, and colleagues. Realizing the need for professional, accurate information about the MBA admission process, The Admission Advisory Group (TAAG) was born. Our first year, we worked with a dozen applicants, eleven of whom were accepted to Harvard and Stanford, and one to UC Berkeley Haas – and since then, our clientele has grown almost entirely through word-of-mouth referrals.

Our Philosophy

The Admission Advisory Group strongly believes that accurate self-knowledge, coupled with an understanding of the subtleties of the highly selective admission process, are the keys to successful applications. Moreover, working with a dedicated advisor with decades-long experience in MBA admissions and higher education administration to articulate your talents and goals will enable you to make your educational dreams come true.

See What Our Clients Are Saying

Thank you for all of your wonderful help, encouragement, support, and kicks in the rear end when I needed them! I am so thrilled to be heading off to HBS and I could not have done it without you. You truly went above and beyond for which I am incredibly appreciative.”

HBS Admit

Thank you for all of your incredible support in the MBA application process. I truly don’t think I could have had the results I did without you. And I certainly would not have had the same peace of mind. Throughout the process you were so thoughtful, precise, kind, and thorough. You are an amazing listener and were critical in helping me find and articulate my own voice.”

Thank you so much for all your help this year, as you helped me reflect internally on the type of person I want to become. That process not only helped me with my applications, but will also influence my decisions for the rest of my life.”

Kellogg MBA Admit

Thank you so much for your support throughout the business school application process, and for helping me achieve my dream. I cannot thank you enough for your guidance and for the care you brought to each of our conversations. I enjoyed being able to think introspectively about my values and life goals alongside you. Your words of encouragement will continue to stick with me as I go through school and my career.”

I know I’ve said this many times before but truly, thank you for all your coaching, support, and mentorship over the last 1.5 years. I’m so glad my friend introduced us, and working with you has really changed how I view myself. I know things are so unpredictable, but down the road, if you’re ever in Palo Alto, would love to meet you in person.”

This thank you letter is overdue, but in such a weird year (of the pandemic), the extra time of letting the Stanford news of acceptance sink in has really underscored what an anchor and a bright light of focus, hope, and teamwork our weekly calls were. You quickly became so much more of a life advisor to me than an application advisor in what was a really transitional year for me with a new job and international assignment. I felt so prepared by you, and to have your positivity in my corner was a tremendous gift that frankly got me through. What an honor to get the great news of my Stanford acceptance, and a new life trajectory with the GSB – a pipe dream I really did not think was possible.”

Stanford GSB Admit

Very happy to share that I was accepted to HBS and to Stanford GSB! I’m going to take the day to enjoy this accomplishment before turning to the decision now at hand! What a journey! Many thanks for being my “sherpa” as we navigated the business school application mountain together.”

I wanted to thank you again for the advice you’ve given me over the past four years (that we’ve worked together to develop and strengthen my business school candidacy). I cannot express how excited I am to be studying at a place like MIT Sloan. My applications were far better and my interviews went smoother as a result of your guidance, so thank you. I hope to have the chance to meet you sometime in person.”
